A Reminder To Take My Medication

When surrounded by open waters

It doesn't hurt to have a life jacket on

Unless you're a mermaid, or a fish, or...

Point is, you don't have gills-

And that's okay

Though you can't hold your breath as long,

You can still swim

You can float

You can still experience the water

A human's powers don't come from gills

They come from the mind

But sometimes the mind gets cloudy

And the water can find its way inside

That's why the life jacket is important

It's not that you're powerless

Sometimes you just need a boost

The deciding factor between life or death

Something to keep you afloat

So, even on your strongest days

Be sure to take your potion

Think of it as a life jacket

Picture yourself, happily, in that boat

For even if it rocks,

You still have a fighting chance against the ocean
